British astronaut, Tim Peake, is coming to Gloucestershire in 2025 as part of a new national tour celebrating space exploration.
His new show, Astronauts: The Quest To Explore Space, comes to Cheltenham Town Hall on Wednesday 17 September 2025 for a special one-night event where he’ll share his first-hand experiences of space travel, as well as bringing some of history’s most iconic and groundbreaking space missions to life through archive footage from astronauts of the past.
From revealing what spaceflight is really like; what it’s like to live in a weightless environment; the physical and psychological pressures on astronauts; to what it feels like to see the view of Earth from space, this awe-inspiring show looks set to be an unmissable experience.
He said: ‘It seems like yesterday I was launching to space — and I still hold the very deep honour and excitement of that day very close.
‘Being able to tour the country, with a special show like The Quest To Explore Space, where I can share just a small taste of what I experienced as an astronaut, reliving my own journey and sharing stories from those groundbreaking moments in space exploration, is absolutely fantastic.
‘I hope the stories I share will give people a special insight into the magic of space and continue to inspire generations of future space explorers.’
Tim joined the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2009 and made history as the first British astronaut to travel to the International Space Station.
Astronauts: The Quest To Explore Space follows his sell-out national tour My Journey to Space, which concluded in 2023 — the astronaut has also spent time in Gloucestershire in the past, having appeared at Cheltenham Science and Literature Festivals, as well as the Royal International Air Tattoo.
Tickets to see Tim Peake in Cheltenham go on sale on Friday 24 January 2025.
